Art Assistant Buyer

 

Z Gallerie, a growing home furnishings and accessories retailer is looking for an Assistant Buyer to provide operational support in our Gallery Buying Office. This position will assist Buyer in product replenishment, allocation and purchase order maintenance, as well as, other buying office functions.

 

Responsibilities:Work with the Buyer to maximize sales and profitability by supporting the procurement and execution of merchandise. Review and analyze reports on a weekly basis to gain a working knowledge of the business.  Analyze trends and identify opportunities. Work with the Buyer, Analyst, and vendor to ensure proper set up and ordering of merchandise. Ensure timely delivery of the merchandise through consistent communication and follow-up with the vendor and distribution centers. Manage the markdown process; communicate changes to the stores. Complete business recaps with direction from the Buyer. Assist Buyer in preparation for seasonal planning process. Identify and shop competition.  Distribute recap of results to Buyer. Communicate all merchandise and merchandising issues. Assist Buyer in developing, executing and communicating new product. Manage uploading new product to web site.Interact effectively with vendors and internal colleagues to achieve departmental goals.

Skills required:Bachelor's Degree preferred Retail management, Merchandising, and/or Assistant Buying experience Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize Computer literate  (Excel and Word) Ability to work independently and take initiative Excellent organizational and analytical skills Effective interpersonal skills Detail orientedExcellent verbal and written communication skills
