Job Description: Area Merchandise Manager

 

Function: 

This position leads the marketing strategy for the market and the role of effectively merchandising all product categories to enhance the customer shopping experience. Proven leadership skills required to create strong cross functional relationships with the stores and Merchandising and drive sales throughout the market. 

 

Requirements:

· Some college work in area of relevance, BA or BS preferred.

· 5+ years of experience furniture and/or accessory merchandising. 

· Superior organizational skills and ability to work long hours.

· Able to work well in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

 

Physical Requirements:

An associate must meet the essential physical requirements to accommodate the functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to lift products in excess of 40 lbs. without the use of a lifting device and substantially more with a manual furniture dolly.  Will be required to walk and stand, crouch or kneel to reach objects.  Will occasionally be required to work outdoors and in extreme temperature environments. 

 

Reports to:  Product Planner

 

Supervises:  Indirectly supervises Store Merchandise Managers

 

Authority Levels:   (1) Inform and act—notify supervisor before acting.

(2) Act and inform—take action; inform supervisor.

(3) Act—take action immediately.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Merchandising(3) Acts as the senior Merchandising associate in the market. (3) Audits pricing and showroom standards.(2) Creates three month product plans for the market and works with the Home Office Merchandising Department to implement and execute.(3) Performs a “Power walkâ€� with one store weekly.(2) Receives each store’s Power Walk and reports each store’s issues to Product Planner and Director of Merchandising.  (2) Designs and implements “Wowâ€� displays with the Visual Merchandisers.(3) Identifies and sources all design aspects of store improvement projects.(3) Trains store management on merchandising aspects of their positions.(3) Acts as the local Merchandising point person for area sales reps.  (2) Acts as a Merchandising Manager in one location.(3) Responsible for monthly Merchandising Report per store.

 

Operations(3) Audits floor model sales, available furniture on the floor, reserved merchandise, pricing, backordered accessories and *Access SKUs.
