Architect IV - Sustainable Design

Sr. Architect with significant recent experience in Sustainable Design. The successful candidate will be LEEDS certified and should have a minimum of 10 years experience, at least 5 of which should be in the Design of Sustainable Facilities. Architectural Registration is required.Responsible for providing both Design and technical expertise, leadership and mentoring on one or more projects. Provides architectural services such as the development of sketches, calculations and technical drawings, directs architectural assignments concerned with the application of advanced architectural principles theories and concepts providing solutions to a variety of problems. Directs the activities of architectural personnel and provides leadership to assigned projects to assure that all work produced is of high quality and within the context of schedule and budget.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Direct architectural personnel on projects and other department activities

· Provide design and technical leadership to assigned projects to assure that all work produced by the department is of high quality, accurate, and within the context of schedule and budget

· Provide the senior level accountability on assigned projects

· Provide supervision and guidance in Sustainable architectural design

· In conjunction with the Discipline Head, lead the effort to keep the Company current in state of the art sustainable architectural technology and theory

· Responsible for the development of project budgets, manpower projections, project development schedules, and complete work plans

· Direct the preparation of conceptual designs, studies, technical documents, including drawings and specifications

· Responsible for the approach used on assigned projects

· Assure conformance with contractual obligations by requiring that the specifications, drawings, and other engineering work be reviewed and approved prior to release to the client

· Assure that all project designs and drawings meet all quality standards set forth by the Company and client

· Identify and manage risk issues on projects

· Ensure that projects proceed on schedule and within the allotted design budget

· Support and enhance the Company’s marketing effort by assisting in the preparation and presentation of proposals to clients

· Act as a recognized leader within, and outside of the company in the broad area of Sustainable Architecture

· Monitor the individual technical performance of project personnel, providing guidance and direction as needed, as well as recommendations to advancement

· Research and evaluate unprecedented architectural problems as they arise and recommend the appropriate resources to solve the issues

· Implement and follow DMJMH+N Quality Assurance Program proceduresBachelor’s degree in Architecture required. Licensed as a registered Architect, preferably in the state in which the office is located. NCARB certification highly recommended.
