Retail Convergence, Inc. was formed in December 2007 through the acquisition of SmartBargains Inc. by a new group of investors and management. The Company will continue to operate SmartBargains.com and leverage its assets in launching new and innovative ecommerce websites. Its first new ecommerce initiative, RueLaLa.com, officially launched in April 2008. The following describes the Company’s current ecommerce website businesses:

SmartBargains.com is an online, off-price retailer serving the value conscious customer. SmartBargains.com provides an assortment of branded merchandise in categories such as home products, apparel, jewelry and shoes. SmartBargains, Inc. was incorporated on February 29, 2000 and launched its website on April 15, 2000.(“www.smartbargains.comâ€�).

 

RueLaLa.com is an invitation-only, private sale site focused on fashion and home products. The private sale model provides consumers exclusive access to scheduled sales of upscale brands. Each private sale is brand-specific, lasts approximately two days and features current-season merchandise. Access to RueLaLa.com is by invitation only, driven primarily by user-generated membership. Title: Application Developer

Purpose and Scope:

The position is in the business operations development group which is responsible for the back- end applications of the Retail Convergence e-Commerce platform – logistics and fulfillment, order management system, warehouse integration systems, customer service application and financial applications.  These applications are a mixture of commercial off-the-shelf products and custom-developed code in the Microsoft .Net architecture.  We are currently in the process of planning our technology strategy for scaling our back-end business applications.  This Application Developer will be integral in planning and execution of that strategy to support the hyper-growth of the business. We seek a high energy individual for our high energy environment.

 

Principal Responsibilities:Take complex applications from technical design to production deploymentCreate a technical specification from a functional specificationTechnical analysisApplication design and architectureProject planning of technical tasksWork with QA department in order to get application tested and deployedIntegration of commercial off the shelf applications

 

Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science3 - 5 years of application development in a .NET framework/ASP.NetOracle 9i/8i with PL/SQLSolid object-oriented system development backgroundExperience with financial applications, logistics and order management applicationsFamiliarity with SDLC processes like RUP, XP, etc.Strong analytical skills, and strong team orientationExperience in retail or consumer product company a plus
