Accounting Analyst II - Revenue Accounting
SUMMARY - PURPOSE OF ROLE:
Accounting support for Revenue Accounting
Responsible for analyzing and recording Revenue Accounting financial data, applying appropriate revenue accounting principles and auditing standards to ensure the integrity and accuracy of all financial data. Also responsible for analyzing financial results and activity, as well as prepare schedules and provide answers to questions relating to audits of the financial statements. The candidate will be responsible for assisting with monthly closing presentations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop a thorough understanding of the accounts (both balance sheet and income statement) in assigned area.
Record and analyze revenue recognition, accrual, and deferral transactions in accordance with GAAP on a monthly basis.
Identify and explain variances between actual financial performance and expectations.
Prepare revenue schedules for the monthly financials results meeting.
Provide meaningful exception reporting to operations management and generate ad hoc analyses as directed.
Use current technology to research and analyze issues as well as look for more efficient ways to complete assigned tasks.
Assist with SOX 404 documentation and testing.
Provide information requested by internal and external auditors on an as-needed basis.

Technical Knowledge/ Skills:
Intermediate knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Intermediate skills with AS/400, JDEdwards and Hyperion accounting applications preferred
Intermediate knowledge of business finance and accounting
Advanced Excel
Intermediate Access
Intermediate analytical skills
Strong organizational skills
General Areas of Knowledge:
Intermediate analytical and organizational skills
Intermediate presentation skills
Education / Experience:
4 year degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
2 - 4 years accounting/finance experience
