OVERALL FUNCTION:
Reporting to the west coast region senior sales manager and based out of the Southern California Area, the account manager develops, manages and coordinates new and existing business, building strong training and support relationships, while ensuring alignment with Peet’s broader business goals. Accounts mainly include business and industry foodservice accounts, college & university campuses, specialty grocery, hospitals, white tablecloth restaurants and luxury hotels.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales
Identifies and secures quality new accounts in Peet’s focused channels to aid team in achieving aggressive sales and profit targets.
Sales responsibilities includes segmenting and targeting key markets and channels, presenting verbal and written presentations, conducting coffee and tea tastings and assessing the property’s equipment and branding needs.

On-going account management
Provides customer support, ensuring customer satisfaction, product quality, training and brand presentation needs are met. Activities include scheduling equipment installation and calibration, preparation of roll-out materials, barista training, quality assurance audits, promotion execution, order scheduling and problem resolution.
Maintains account files including information on equipment, ordering patterns, contact person(s), pricing, and profitability objectives.
Provides support and works with customer service and production teams to ensure efficient fulfillment of orders. Ensures on-going communication about account activity.
Develops and maintains training tools, ordering tools, and product information sheets.

Other responsibilities as assigned by the west coast region senior sales manager and the General Manager of Wholesale and Licensing.


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Three years’ related outside sales experience with proven track record of sales success.
Consultative sales skills.
Account sales experience within the foodservice sector; knowledge of foodservice accounts in the Southern California area preferred.
Specialty coffee and tea experience preferred.
Superb customer service skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong initiative, motivation and self-management skills.
Strong Word and Excel computer skills.
Willingness to travel regularly throughout the Southern California Bay area and occasionally nationally
