The Canlan Ice Sports is presently concluding purchase arrangements for the Vineland 2-pad facility is located in Vineland, NJ, a city of 56,000 people less than 60 minutes from Philadelphia and Atlantic City.  The facility is Home to the Vineland Patriots minor hockey program and several high school hockey clubs.  Developing strong working relationships with user groups will be the key to developing and growing the business.

 

 

We presently have exciting opportunities for:

§ Customer Service Representatives

§ Concession Staff

§ On Ice Instructors

§ Janitors and Ice Maintenance Staff

§ Sports Store Clerks

 

Many of these positions are part time hours, with some full time availability.  Hours for these roles with fluctuate with the seasonality of the business.

 

Customer Service Representatives

Reporting to the Office Manager, the Customer Service Representative provides customer service in person or by telephone and provides office administrative support to the facility team. The Customer Service Representative will also be involved in telemarketing efforts. The Customer Service Representative must ensure that administrative duties are conducted in a professional, accurate and courteous manner.

 

Qualifications:

§ Customer service, administration orientation

§ Team player with service or hospitality industry experience

§ Interested in working in an environment which is fast paced and always changing 

§ Adaptable and able to communicate effectively with both customers and staff

§ Must have strong telephone skills, telemarketing experience would be an asset.

 

Experience:

§ Minimum of 1 year cash handling, office and customer service experience. 

§ Excellent oral and written communication skills (English), neat in appearance, professional in attitude and understands the sensitivity of confidential information

§ Must be thorough, organized, articulate and punctual

§ Must work well under pressure and pay particular attention to deadlines

§ Proficient with word processing and spreadsheet programs.

 

Concession Staff

To provide prompt, courteous, accurate food and beverage service that exceeds guest expectations.

 

Qualifications:

§ Out going with great personality

§ Willingness to learn and be part of a team

§ Flexible with respect to shifts, ability to work day, evenings,  weekdays or weekends.

§ Good communication skills

 

Experience:

§ Experience in service industry preferred

 

 

On Ice Instructors

Instructors are responsible for the on-ice delivery of Hockey Development and Learn to Skate Programs.  Individual(s) must be extremely outgoing and thoroughly enjoy interacting with both young children and adults. Problem-solving and strong communication skills are a must. Furthermore, instructors should have the ability to multi-task with different skills and help meet the needs of all participants.

 

Qualifications:

Learn to Skate Programs

§ Experience coaching and/or teaching skating skills to young children.

§ Proficient skater with a knowledge of techniques to teach the skill

§ USA Hockey Coaches Certification or experience as USFSA registered coach.

For Hockey Development Programs

§ Experience coaching and/or teaching hockey skills to young children.

§ Knowledge of the game of hockey and techniques to teach the skills of the game.

§ USA Hockey Coaches Certification

For both of the above

§ Ability to create and deliver a fun learning experience for participants

§ Ability to look, dress and act professional at all times

§ Ability to be organized and able to run drills in a simple progression

§ Basic First Aid & CPR training

 

Buliding and ice maintienance Staff

JANITORS

Janitorial & Maintenance Persons are to understand and apply all techniques / skills of cleaning and facility maintenance.  As a member of the facility team the position provides cooperative assistance within all areas of the business.  The attitude demonstrated in fulfilling the responsibilities shows a clear understanding of our customers’ need for service excellence and are committed to it.

 

Qualifications:

§ Possess a positive work ethic.

§ All around knowledge of mechanical equipment.

§ Good knowledge of facility maintenance.

§ Ability to use various equipment and tools common to the role and the facility.

§ Must work well with peers and Management.

§ Must have good organization skills.

§ Posses the ability to work in a group or individually.

§ Flexible with respect to shifts, ability to work day, evenings, or midnights, weekdays or weekends.

 

Experience:

§ Must have a minimum of 1-year experience in the above field.

§ Must be able to follow directions and communicate, written and orally (English). 

 

ICE MAINTENANCE

Ice Maintenance persons will ensure that floods are done on time with safety being a prime concern.  Primary responsibilities include ice maintenance, general maintenance, janitorial work, ice plant / compressor log readings, and some HVAC troubleshooting.

 

As a member of the facility team the position provides cooperative assistance within all areas of the business.  The attitude demonstrated in fulfilling the responsibilities shows a clear understanding of our customers’ need for service excellence and are committed to it.

 

Qualifications:

§ Possession of a STAR CIT is preferred or completion of one of the three technical programs.

§ Mechanical aptitude & all around knowledge of mechanical equipment.

§ Hard working and honest.

§ Possess a positive work ethic and the ability to work with / communicate with Customers.

§ Ability to use various equipment and tools common to the role and the facility.

§ Must work well with peers and Management.

§ Must have good organization skills.

§ Posses the ability to work in a group or individually.

§ Flexible with respect to shifts, ability to work day, evenings, or midnights, weekdays or weekends.

§ Good communication skills.

§ Must be able to follow directions, written and oral.

 

Experience:

§ Must have a minimum of 1-year experience in the above field.

§ Basic computer knowledge and skills preferred

§ Must be able to follow directions and communicate, written and orally (English).

Sports Store Clerks

Sports Store Clerk will provide positive service and sales to all prospective customers in a friendly and timely manner in a clean and organized environment. The Sports Store clerk will be responsible for doing skate sharpening and maintaining the skate sharpening machine.  

 

Experience:

§ Experience with skate sharpening

§ Customer service

§ Hockey knowledge

§ Computer skills

§ Cash handling experience

§ Retail sales

§ Ability to work flexible schedules, primarily evenings & weekends
