JOB TITLE: CLASS “Aâ€� DRIVER

SUMMARY:  The primary responsibility of a “Sofo Truck Driverâ€� is to get the product to the customer in a timely and orderly fashion.  You are the main contact between the “Customer and Sofo Foodsâ€�.  Other job duties may be assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reports to Traffic Manager and/or Supervisor for paperwork, (i.e. invoices, manifest, blue sheet, key’s will be put in driver’s box).

 

Double checks invoices vs. load ticket to make sure driver has proper paperwork for his route.

 

Performs Pre-Trip inspection everyday on truck before departure from driver parking lot.  (Any problems will be handled by in-house Truck Maintenance Department).

 

Start your route, all orders are loaded in sequence and are expected to be unloaded in the dame manner. (If you skip a stop, call and notify Traffic Department).

 

Double check all orders when making a delivery, make sure customer receives all product ordered.  If product is not on truck or wrong product was loaded on truck, driver must call into Traffic Department.

 

Ifyou are delivering to a “key stop’, double-check all product, put cooler product in cooler and freezer product in freezer, do not leave items out.

MAKE SURE LOCK UP FACILITY WHEN FINISHED.

 

Check correct method of payment on invoice, (i.e. cash, check number and amount).  Driver must also initial all invoices.  Always get a manager or assistant manager to sign invoice and double check the product.

 

After delivering the last stop, the driver must call into the Traffic Department to let them know that the driver is on their way back to the Warehouse.

 

All trucks must be fueled up before returning to Warehouse, (both Truck and Refrigeration Unit).  Post Inspection must also done on trucks, for in house repairs.

 

Driver must take off all returns off truck and have them checked-in by the Returns Personnel.

 

Invoices and Product Return Sheet will be let with Returns Personnel.

 

Blue Sheet, Logs, Manifest, Cash, Check and keys will be turned into supervisor written receipts are given to drivers for cash.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). One year related experience and/or training.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  Must have CDL Class “Aâ€� to drive Tractor Trailer.

  Must be able to communicate and handle stressful situations.

Must be able to read and understand directions and duties necessitated by changing business conditions when requested to do so by Traffic Manager or Supervisor.

Physical demands are: Lifting product that could weigh up to 100lbs.

  Pushing Two-Wheel Hand Cart approx.500lbs.

 

STANDARDS:

To make sure Customer receives full Customer Service from a Driver, and to try to correct any problem the Customer may have,properly and promptly.

 

PRIORITIES:

  Reports to work on time and in uniform.

  Gathers all materials to perform daily duties.

  Handles situations with Customer in a professional manner.

  Takes care of Truck, reports any Preventative Maintenance.

  Responsible for all monies and paperwork upon returning to Warehouse.
