The Training Designer will work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision in an environment that demands high quality, creativity and consistency. The incumbent will be required to coordinate and personally contribute to all aspects of training creation. These activities include graphic design, media creation and training materials design through a variety of methods and media types.                   Supervisory Requirements: Contribute to project teams as a participant or lead project teams as assigned. There are no direct reports to this position.Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): Develop training materials for online training programs, training tutorials, simulations and learner aids using sound instructional design principals. Create custom graphics, animations, videos and simulations that enhance learning objectives. Ensure eLearning courses are compatible with LMS and SCORM 1.2 standards. Design and develop training applicable to both company and franchise operations. Design training to include success criteria, delivery methods, associated materials and evaluation tactics. Develop training content based on input from subject matter experts and within Denny’s brand standards and procedures. Design for and maintain web-based applications to include eLearning and training web sites. Participate in design team meetings. Provide regular updates on the status of all design and development activities, completion of milestones and potential risks. Evaluate and modify existing training programs and related material to make necessary updates and improvements. Complete all training deliverables with a high standard of professionalism. Cultivate a collaborative work environment with franchisees and other departments and disciplines. Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent 2 years experience with instructional design and course development for eLearning. Experienced in creating training initiatives that incorporate adult learning principles Experience with eLearning authoring tools Experienced in visual interface and graphic design Strong understanding and experience with Adobe Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Office products Demonstrated ability to meet aggressive timelines while managing multiple projects Experience delivering instructor-led/classroom training a plus Ability to learn quickly, adjust to change and take initiativeKnowledge and Skills: Intermediate skills in ActionScript, JavaScript and XML Testing for SCORM 1.2 compliance Ability to simplify complex tasks and processes Strong communication skills, especially writing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills Exceptional service attitude focusing on professionalism and responsibility Creativity and flexibility diversity Click here for more information about our Diversity Initiatives.
