Opportunity
Heritage Pointe of Teaneck, a 142 apartment Independent living Community, is looking for two Sous Chefs to join their team. The Sous Chef is responsible to maintain high quality food products and service, and to oversee daily operation of kitchen activities in the absence of the Executive Chef. The Sous Chef is an integral member of the Heritage Pointe of Teaneck dining services team. The Sous Chef is a daily service leader for the entire food and beverage staff who works with the service team to ensure a high quality dining experience for guests.
Responsibilities
1) Participates or guides, as directed, in the daily menu production.
2) Prepares and coordinates daily breakfast, lunch and dinners from standardized recipes.
3) Works necessary line shifts daily to ensure speedy service.
4) Guides and directs training for all kitchen associates.
5) Ensures kitchen equipment is clean operable and properly maintained on a daily basis.
6) Maintains cost and expense controls according to budget.
7) Assists in the food ordering and inventory.
8) Assists in planning, execution and coordination of special events.
9) Ensures proper food temperature maintenance.
10) Keeps stock rooms, coolers and freezers clean and ensures that food supply stocks are rotated all perishables are labeled, dates and sorted properly.
11) Keep food waste to a minimum by using food storage and food recycling techniques.
