Sales Rep - Baton Rouge, LA - Metro

Merchants Foodservice, a broad-line food service distribution company, has an immediate opening for an individual that is professional, innovative, and industrious and possesses the enthusiasm to be successful in an Outside Sales position.  The position is available in the Baton Rouge, LA Metro area.  Our vast product lines provide excellent growth opportunities.  Proven sales field experience preferred.  We offer excellent benefit and training programs.

 

This position requires a high school diploma or GED; with 3-6 months proven sales field experience.  Candidate should have selling skills, product knowledge, people skills, professional flexibility, communication skills, industry knowledge and math skills.

 

Essential Functions include:

 

 - Develop a Sales Territory Plan to achieve Sales and Profit goals by developing and maintaining existing business and creating new accounts.

 - Accountable for collections of all account receivables in assigned area.

 - Maintain a professional and courteous relationship coupled with commitment to service.

 - Initiate value added services to customers, by using Inside Sales, District Manager, Market Specialists, and Vendor Representatives.

 - Develop customer trust, by providing consistent and timely customer contact.

 - Propose new items to predetermine accounts.

 - Develop a critical plan by utilizing sales tools provided by the organization.

 - Anticipate and accommodate customer needs.

 - Maintain professional relationships with all departments.

 - Adhere to existing sales policies and procedure systems.

 - Exhibit a strong sense of ethics.

 - Maintain industry standards of excellence, by attending district sales meetings, product and marketing segment training and sales tool training.

 - Insure competiveness in the market place by completing competitive marketing reports.
