SR. COMPENSATION & HRIS ANALYST/MANAGER
The Sr. Compensation and HRIS Analyst/Manager is responsible for the administration of various compensation programs, including salary administration and analysis, the performance appraisal and merit increase programs, salary budgets, and the job description process. Participate in various compensation surveys throughout the year. Contribute to the administration of the Annual Incentive Plan and various bonus plans including the design and communication processes as well as ensuring the accuracy of payments. Participate in the maintenance of HRIS data to ensure its integrity. Responsible for running various headcount/variance, turnover reports on a monthly basis for presentation to top management, as well as various HRIS reports on an ad hoc basis for supervisors, department heads and officers as requested. Involvement in the research and development of new systems and processes (i.e., Employee and Manager Self-Service, Success Factors) that will drive the Human Resources department toward a paperless means of sharing information. Responsible for the administration of said systems once implemented. Specific Job Duties: In conjunction with IT, responsible for the maintenance of HRIS databases to support the HRIS reporting function. Prepare various headcount/variance and staffing and turnover reports to be presented to top management by updating data, manipulating files as needed to obtain necessary information and formatting accordingly to make them presentable. Prepare G&A headcount schedules each month for reporting purposes. Prepare various ad hoc reports as requested by department heads. Participate in the design and development process for the bonus plans. Attend meetings to discuss components, generate presentations for discussion with top management, and create plan documents. Manage information for the calculation files. Compile current staffing and salary information and submit to Financial Planning so that bonus payments can be calculated. Review final bonus data for accuracy and submit to Payroll when Region Director approvals are received. Research payment issues and resolve through communication with Region Directors, VP, Human Resources and Sr. VP, Company Operations, obtaining the necessary approvals for exceptions, revised payments, etc. Following established procedures, review exempt, clerical and plant/facilities position questionnaires received from department heads, clarify areas of question. Conduct evaluation and obtain/analyze survey data to determine appropriate pay grade. Review job description, evaluation and survey data with supervisor. Finalize job description upon approval. Calculate salary recommendation if appropriate and review with supervisor. Counsel department heads as needed with regard to the job description process, as well as in other compensation-related matters. Responsible for the preparation and implementation of the field and corporate merit increase process including merit budget proposals, salary budgets, matrices and salary ranges. Prepare preliminary salary budget files, make approved adjustments per request of officers or Financial Planning, and submit final files to Financial Planning. Compile compensation planning survey data in order to arrive at recommended salary budget for the following year. Prepare merit budget proposal and merit increase cost analysis. Generate the merit increase worksheets and instructions for each employee group. Administer the Crew Performance Management and Merit Increase programs. Participate in various national/local compensation surveys, matching positions and supplying salary/bonus/other related position information. Analyze results in conjunction with job evaluation and merit budget processes. Participate in the development of new Lawson and non-Lawson systems that will allow for paperless routing of compensation-related information throughout the company. Continued administration of Employee and Manager Self-Service through interaction with the IT staff. Attend meetings, conduct testing, and conduct training of employees in the use of the systems. Continued administration of the Success Factors performance management system, including on-going communication with the vendor regarding development of new appraisal forms, as well as management and modification of existing forms. Train and assist users of the system on an on-going basis. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in Business required. Five to seven years compensation/payroll experience. Related experience on computerized compensation system preferred. Must be proficient with PC (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, FoxPro, Lawson HR/Payroll, Oracle Browser, and Business Objects). Excellent oral and written communications skills.
