AMERICAN GIRL PLACE, located in Chicago near the Magnificent Mile, in New York near Rockefeller Center and in Los Angeles in The Grove shopping center, is the award-winning retail and entertainment site created by American Girl,a wholly owned subsidiary of Mattel, Inc, selling books, dolls, clothing and other products for girls age 3-12. We have an excellent opportunity for the following professionals to join our team. Provide consistent high quality food and service for dining room guests and party room guests. Ensure dining experiences are memorable to encourage repeat Bistro visits. Provide Bistro information, Private Party Room information, Boutique special event and programs information and ability to book reservations. -Wait station and back of house are maintained efficiently, stocked and cleaned. Supply levels are properly maintained and debris is cleaned throughout the day. -Stock beverage supplies and have proper levels of beverages prepared every hour. Assist staff with delivering beverages and food, when needed. -Consult with Hosts to determine the appropriate number of guests to reset tables and party rooms.-Clear and stock linens; stock dishes, glassware, and silver; sort and polish silver; make beverages; all in a thorough and timely manner using proper service etiquette. -Support the removal of dirty settings and separating glassware into bus tubs or bring to dishwashing area. -Take full bus tubs to the dishwashing area, or remove dirty settings, using a tray, to the dishwashing area. Maintain health code sanitation standards including, but not limited to, gloves; hourly changing of sanitation water. -Maintain good communication with dining room staff at all times.-Deliver doll cup and saucers to each doll at the tables when seated; assist hosts with delivering treat seats.-Refill drinks; clear tables between courses and reset with proper silver; maintain clean and orderly tables. -Assist servers with any other serving needs including but not limited to serving drinks, food, and carry out food containers. -Use proper service etiquette at all times. Communicate appropriate guest information to hosts/servers.-Provide courteous, efficient service to all cafe guests-Complete opening side work in a timely manner, including but not limited to: wiping down chairs/booths/walls, stocking supplies, folding napkins, polish silver, stock linens.-Complete closing side work in timely manner, including but not limited to: resetting dining room and party rooms; polishing and sorting silver, folding napkins, restocking storage areas with dishes, silver, glassware, linen.-Complete assigned side work thoroughly and in a timely manner High School Degree Preferred.1 yr. Restaurant Service Preferred.Exceptional communication skills are required for constant personal interaction with guests and co-workers.
