Restaurant Manager
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for varied duties involved in the overall operation of the restaurant including maintaining the Company’s Brand Standards, presenting a professional image at all times, coaching, counseling, and developing Team Members, maximizing sales and profitability, controlling expenses, meeting budgetary constraints, handling Guest complaints, and ensuring sanitation, safety and food quality. Contributes to the overall success and profitability of the company and delivers on the Company’s Brand Promises.
Essential Duties andResponsibilities:
• Ensure each Guest receives excellent service by providing an environment which includes maintaining the Brand Standards, solid knowledge of the menu, and all other components of Gracious Hospitality.
• Recruit, train, develop, and communicate with all Team Members as well as assist the General Manager through consistent weekly meetings with all Team Members.
• Assist in identifying strategies to retain the best Team Members.
• Monitor inventory levels and report all concerns to the General Manager.
• Develop and assign daily goals and tasks and assure completion through consistent follow-up.
• Assist in monitoring sales performance and make recommendations for scheduling, staffing and other strategies.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Assist in the management of funds, media, bank deposits, receiving, inventory, and payroll as needed.
• Ensure all equipment is in good repair.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience:
• High school diploma or high school equivalency
• One to two years management experience in casual dining or a related restaurant industry.
ComputerSkills:
• Computer skills required include a basic understanding of Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook email applications.
• Ability to use POS (MICROS) system
Essential Physical Requirements:
• Ability to communicate with Team Members and Guests.
• Walk and stand during the entire day.
• Reach, bend, stoop, walk, lift and carry items up to 50lbs. repeatedly during a day.
• Position requires basic math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide; to interpret fractions into percentages, to count and record data accurately; to use a calculator; to count money and make change.
• Position requires excellent communication skills and requires reading and writing.
• Ability to tolerate significant changes in temperature.
• Must be able to carry plates of food from kitchen to dining room as much as needed.
• Must be able to tolerate frequent immersion of hands in water and cleaning or sanitizing solutions.
• Must be able to tolerate frequent immersion of hands into freezer and handling frozen items.
Work Environment:
• The noise level in the work environment is elevated. The work place is generally fast and high volume of work is expected.
