Pluckers Wing Bar in now hiring Shiftleaders and Coaches for New Store in San Marcos
Are you a "Coach" or a "Manager"?
Let’s get one thing straight. A “manager” at your current job is probably one of the main reasons you’re looking for another job. A “manager” is that guy who is the “them” when you’re co-workers at your current job say “It’s us vs. them”. A “manager” is someone who sits behind a desk and tells people what to do and when to do it.
At Pluckers, you aren’t a “manager”, you’re a “Coach”. A “Coach” is that guy who spent an hour after every Little League baseball practice teaching you how to throw a curveball. Your seventh grade teacher that tutored you after school teaching you algebra, even though you knew she had her own kids to go home to…she was a “Coach”. A “Coach” stays at the restaurant until 6:00am helping an employee get through a bad breakup with her boyfriend.
So what makes Pluckers so great? Well, first of all you get to work for a company that was named 4th Fastest Growing Company in Central Texas by the Austin Business Journal, so there is plenty of room for advancement. Also, you get to work for a restaurant that guests are passionate about...we were voted Best Sports Bar by Austin CitySearch in 2007 and Best Wings and Best Delivery by the Readers of The Austin Chronicle in 2008, not to mention we were awarded The Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies in Austin by Austin Business Journal.
WIIFM or What's In It For Me?
So we've got you sold that we are a great company, so of course you are wondering how a truly exceptional company compensates its coaches. Keep in mind that when we polled our coaches, they mentioned money as the fourth most important factor of why they worked for us. Appreciation for the work they do, being "in" on things and help with their personal problems were the top three in case you wondered. Here are a few reasons if you are a superstar, you would want to work for Pluckers:
1. Our salaried coaches are also paid among the restaurant industry's top compensation earning total, compensation of $27,000 - $45,000 for those with significant restaurant management experience.
2. We are actually a real, live growing company. That means that you don't have to wait for someone to quit or be fired for you to advance. We will probably open stores faster than you can be ready for promotion.
3. All salaried coaches are given 2 weeks of paid vacation and an additional week of personal time from the first day they start.
4. All coaches are eligible to participate in a health benefit plan that is among the restaurant industry's best.
5. Last, but certainly not least in the mind of our current coaches (hence why they all gain 10 pounds in their first month) is that you get free meals at Pluckers! Come on, who cares about everything else, you get free food at Pluckers!
So ask yourself, do I want to be a “manager” or a “Coach”? If you want to be a “Coach”, kindly send your resume to employment@pluckers.net or visit www.pluckers.net and complete an application. Oh yeah, by the way, we will check your references so be sure you’ve got some good ones on there and if you don't complete the application 100%, please don't expect to hear from us!
Not quite ready for that salaried position? Not sure what to do because you don’t have a lot of experience? Still unsure if restaurant management is the career for you? Well, we are also hiring shiftleaders…
Have you been waiting tables for years and ready to take the next step to restaurant management, but not sure what it is all about? Interested in moving up as a restaurant manager, but never given an opportunity? Not quite ready to put in those 60+ hour work weeks yet, but want to advance in your career. We’ve got your answer…
Pluckers Wing Bar is now hiring Full-Time and Part-Time FOH and BOH shiftleaders. The shiftleader position is an entry level position into management and can be used to gain valuable management experience to further your overall restaurant experience or to start a career here at Pluckers. FOH and BOH shiftleaders play a key role at Pluckers; they assist upper management in overseeing daily operations of the kitchen and the floor.
Duties for a FOH shiftleader include: opening the floor, making seating charts, making cuts, performing comps and voids, handling complaints and assisting in additional guest and employee relations. Basically, overseeing the entire floor operations on a daily basis.
Duties for a BOH shiftleader include: opening the kitchen, checking in all orders, making cuts, “expo”ing, monitoring cleaning and health related issues. Basically, overseeing the entire kitchen operations on a daily basis.
A lot of our shiftleaders enjoy performing this job part-time while also waiting tables, bartending or cooking. This allows you to continue to grow professionally and not necessarily commit 100% to management. You get an opportunity to see what it is all about before deciding if it is for you. At Pluckers we always prefer to promote from within and it is these very shiftleaders that we look to when looking for upper level management.
Shiftleader benefits include:
Gaining valuable management experience
Health benefits
Schedule flexibility
Bonus potential
Free meals
and more…
Training pay is $12.00/hour, with most of our trained shiftleaders making anywhere from $12.50 - $14.00/hour.If this sounds good to you and you want to be a “coach”, kindly send your resume to employment@pluckers.net or visit www.pluckers.net and complete an application.
