Food Buyer

Ruby Tuesday is seeking a Food Buyer for their Support Center in Maryville, TN. Candidate will obtain food products and non-food products to be utilized for all Ruby Tuesday divisions. Maintains competitive pricing of products without changing quality standard.FOOD BUYERESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Evaluates individual products within assigned product lines and determines pricing based on existing   criteria for cost and quality.• Challenges existing products for cost and quality engineering.• Identifies new products for culinary proposals and determines projected costs.• Establishes secondary suppliers on critical products for pricing/supply consideration.• Negotiates long term pricing contracts and terms with suppliers.• Negotiates and establishes best possible freight lane.• Competitively bid products upon contract expirations.• Be the expert in all assigned categories in all areas of each product.• Monitors weekly and monthly price updates for changes as related to product lines assigned.• Interfaces with suppliers on developing special proprietary products as needed.• Establishes strong communication network with suppliers and internal teams.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:• 4-year degree or equivalent• 3-5 years wholesale buying/negotiating• 3-5 years knowledge of food products and distribution proceduresBENETITS:• Competitive Pay• FREE Medical Premiums• Dental Plan• 401(k) plan• Fun and Respectful Environment• 35 Years of Proven Experience• Advancement OpportunitiesInterested applicants should submit resumes to: Kaye Dennison - HR Maryville kdennison@rubytuesday.com Fax:  865-379-6826Ruby Tuesday Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
