DISPATCHER for Airline Catering
DO & CO Catering New York, Inc. is an international Airline Caterer, with our Corporate Headquarters located in Vienna, Austria. We have facilities located in New York, London, Milan, Istanbul, Ankara (plus 7 further locations in Turley) Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, Salzburg, Graz and Innsbruck. We are looking for a Dispatcher for our Gourmet Flight Kitchen New York at JFK International Airport. We are the quality industry market leader worldwide and especially in New York.
We serve selected high profile International Airlines with high quality premium food concepts. We’re the innovator of the field, operating out of the most modern Gourmet Kitchen, applying best practice processes and developing strongly modern information technology to reach out highest efficiency for our production cycles. We are a twenty-four (24) hour operation in a global industry and our goal is to strengthen our top position in the market and to explore further business opportunities.
Reports to: Operation Manager
Direct Reports: Flight Coordinator, CDL- Drivers, Warehouse, and Receivers.
Our Dispatcher is a working member of management; and must possess 3+ years’ hands on experience in Transportation. The qualified candidate must be team oriented with the ability to work independently. Must act with a sense of urgency and posses the ability to coordinate transportation activities to deliver products, goods, and service in a timely manner. Must posses the ability to plan, forecast, schedule, and communicate airlines changes. Exceptional written and oral communication skills are essential. This is a face pace environment that requires a hands on approach to catering needs. We are seeking a quick thinker and effective decision maker. We pride ourselves in delivering the highest quality of customer service skills coupled with ensuring effectiveness and efficiency of the overall Dispatch Department.
Responsibilities:
Receive all incoming communication from employees, vendors, and customers.Communicates operational information by a check-back system and process print delivery notes.Supervise the Flight Coordinators and Transport employees.Effectively communicates between Dispatch, Flight Coordinators, CDL-Drivers, Tray-setting and Food Production.Supervise the processing time of the MOF to avoid delays and lapses.Prepare correct paperwork for the invoicing department according to company guidelines.Ensure correct invoicing of all delivered articles per flight.Effect correct and communicate equipment orders to employees, vendors, and customers.Ensure punctuality of each single flightCommunicate up count of meals for each provisioned flightEffect constantly controls within the consigned area to ensure that the requirements of hygiene, quality and safety standards are fulfilled Supervise use of machinery and equipment as it pertains to Dispatch9I.E radios, cell phones, and all communication devices) in accordance to company standards and safety requirements Ensure that employee use clean uniforms and safety equipment as required.Identify problematic areas within the consigned sector, inform Superior and Management.
Qualifications:
The qualified candidate must possess approximately 3+ year’s hands on experience within the catering branch, be team oriented with the ability to work independently and the ability to act with a sense of urgency. Must posses the ability to co-ordinate all activities to ensure smooth and efficient running of operations. Exceptional written and oral communication skills are essential. College experience and Spanish speaking is an asset. Must be punctual and flexible; ability to work various shifts. Other tasks may be added or removed by Management according to business requirements.
