Conference Catering Manager

Job Purpose:The Conference Catering Manager is responsible for the day-to-day catering operations of the conference center.  The Manager is required to plan and execute events in the evening.  Sales experience is necessary. Essential Responsibilities: ● Oversee and ensure all items are being prepared to standardized recipes and in accordance to each specific event's needs as outlined on the menu.● Communicate to the General Manager shortages, ordering needs and maintenance issues to maintain the level of day to day business.● Create and execute corporate events ranging from 50 - 100 guests.● Follow local, state and federal guidelines for the proper handling of food products.● Organize internal catered events.● Maintain open and effective communication with others.● Assisting General Manager with all new programs implemented to improve service, food and general performance of café.● Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: ● Bachelor's in Hotel/Hospitality Management from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience. ● At least four years progressive management experience in catering sales or hotel operations. Eligibility Requirements: ● You MUST be at least 18 years of age or older.● You MUST be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process. ● You MUST be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process. ● You MUST be willing to submit to a credit verification as part of the selection process. ● You MUST have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.Desired Qualifications: ● Proficient in MS Office, Windows and other catering software.● Positive attitude and a team player.● Bilingual skills in both English and Spanish a plus.● Self-starter who possesses a "make it happen" attitude and demonstrates initiative.● Excellent communication skills both written and verbal● Ability to multi-task and be a creative problem solver.● Hands-on manager.  This is not an office based position.● Ideal candidate will have a desire to develop skills and responsibilities within a growing organization and feel comfortable accepting increased responsibilities within 18-24 months.
