Specific Functions and Duties:

As an assistant manager for GFS Marketplace you must create a team atmosphere where the GFS values and philosophies flourish. It is crucial that you help build and drive the sales through the "customer is king" mentality. While you have specific positional responsibilities you are also part of the management team and will be responsible for managing all facets of the store operations. Effective management includes, but is not limited to delegating, supervising, evaluating and being accountable for the end result.



Our assistant managers rotate through 2 Assistant Manager positions in their career development.



Retail Services and Sales Assistant Manager:

In this role you will focus on associate development, staffing and systems. You will drive the recruitment and training of new associates. You will also be responsible for the training of Associates and Management teams on customer service standards and system applications and processes. The sales portion of this position focuses on promoting a culture in the store that is focused on increasing sales. You will also participate in driving sales through outside sales call efforts and be accountable for assuring that all in store selling programs are being trained and implemented within the Marketplace store.



Merchandising Assistant Manager:

The focus of this role is to assure that all merchandising techniques and systems are properly implemented, for maintaining quality of product programs, for managing the execution of all inventory procedures resulting in inventory accuracy, and on training of new merchandising efforts within the Marketplace store.
