POSITION TITLE: Area Supervisor
REPORTS TO: District Vice President / Director of Operations
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To effectively lead Restaurant Managers and Assistant Managers toward the attainment of agreed-upon goals and profits.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct DBR calls with the Manager on Duty of every restaurant to teach and coach.
2. Check schedules of each restaurant every week. Insure restaurants are fully staffed for every shift at all levels.
3. Work lunch and dinner. Insure that all restaurants are providing QF3 through the use of the Twelve Systems
4. Maintain a bench of “A” players through the effective execution of DFW development from withing.
5. Check Weekly and Period paperwork to insure that all controls are in place and being used consistently and effectively and that all reported numbers are accurate.
6. Recruit and hire Management to staff all restaurants, as well as to maintain a bench for future growth.
7. Perform one EVAL inspection each week to teach people how to properly run a restaurant.
8. Insure all marketing plans are executed, including proper installation of POP and menuboard elements. Schedule and lead all new product training.
9. Insure all restaurants are properly staffed and people are properly trained to do their jobs through effective use of TMTP.
10. Provide leadership by engendering excitement, enthusiasm, a positive mental attitude and commitment to company objectives. Create atmosphere of “Esprit de Corps.”
11. Insure that correct inventory levels are kept and all equipment is maintained in excellent condition through the use of approved vendors.
12. Set an example by maintaining an excellent working knowledge and a high level of proficiency in the performance of all phases of restaurant operations and BOS.
13. Supervise in accordance with established performance and operating policies as set out in the Operations Standards Manual.
14. Work with and motivate Managers and Assistant Managers to perform up to their highest possible level of ability. Review individual performance with each Manager and Assistant Manager every quarter (copy to PVD) and recommend salary adjustments annually as necessary.
15. Develop management skills of all personnel to continue company growth and Restaurant Manager promotions. Review tests and performance appraisals of all Management Trainees. Participate in training program.
16. Assume responsibility for attaining a favorable variance to standard. Analyze and review Weekly Recaps, Income Statements, RTI reports for each restaurant, and other support documents, and take appropriate action to maintain company standards. Personally take an inventory at two restaurants each period.
17. Communicate effectively with subordinates, associates, supervisors and others about plan, progress and problems.
18. Recommend and implement, with the Marketing Department, local store marketing ideas.
19. Participate in the development of company policies and standards, salary and incentive plans, annual forecast, product research and development, equipment research and development, training program and management development.
20. Recommend Managers for promotion to Operating Partner, Area Supervisor, etc.
21. Responsible for building sales and making a profit.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Minimum: High School Diploma
Preferred: Associate’s Degree
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION:
Required Minimum:
· 4 years restaurant management experience with 1 year at Area Supervisor and above.
Preferred:
· 6 years restaurant management experience with 2 years in Fast Food at Area Supervisor and above.
