Accounting Clerk
Responsible for providing account and clerical support within the Accounting Department.
REPORTS TO: Controller
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Accounting Clerk performs a variety of general accounting support tasks in the accounting department including:
· Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.
· Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g. disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable, and accounts receivable). Enters data into computer system using proprietary software and Great Plains accounting system.
· Reconciles records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or customers.
· Accounting functions are completed in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
· Recommends actions to resolve discrepancies.
· Assumes responsibility for effectively researching, tracking, and resolving (or properly referring) accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Great Plains.
· Organizational, verbal and written communication skills a must.
· Attention to detail is required; ability to multi-task is an asset.
· At least two (2) years experience in a high volume business environment.
