Accounting Clerk

Responsible for providing account and clerical support within the Accounting Department.​

REPORTS TO: Controller

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Accounting Clerk performs a variety of general accounting support tasks in the accounting department including:

· Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.​

· Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.​g.​ disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable, and accounts receivable).​ Enters data into computer system using proprietary software and Great Plains accounting system.​

· Reconciles records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or customers.​

· Accounting functions are completed in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.​

· Recommends actions to resolve discrepancies.​

· Assumes responsibility for effectively researching, tracking, and resolving (or properly referring) accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.​



QUALIFICATIONS



· Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Great Plains.​

· Organizational, verbal and written communication skills a must.​

· Attention to detail is required; ability to multi-task is an asset.​

· At least two (2) years experience in a high volume business environment.​
