The VP-Regulatory Controls will assist in developing, implementing, maintaining and monitoring compliance with Bank policies, procedures, controls and programs. Special areas of focus will include U.S. GAAP, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Improvement Act of 1991 (“FDICIA”), and Sarbanes Oxley (“SOX”) requirements impacting the Bank.
Position Responsibilities:Monitor, assess and advise Bank management of the impact of developments or emerging issues in US GAAP, FDICIA/SOX, and other regulatory requirements applicable to the Bank. Identify new Bank processes and their respective risks and controls. Monitor the Bank’s compliance with applicable US GAAP, FDICIA/SOX and other regulatory requirements through timely and appropriate documentation and testing . Assist Bank management in reviewing implications of US GAAP, FDICIA/SOX and other regulatory requirements on new or proposed transactions in coordination with CFI reviews.
Essential Skills & Experience:Bachelor's Level Degree 5-8 yrs. relevant experience Certified Public Accountant Strong background in the concepts of US GAAP, FDICIA/SOX, regulatory compliance, business controllership and internal controls within a banking organization. Prior experience in an accounting policy role or in the national technical advisory office of a major public accounting firm is highly preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to develop strong relationships with senior management. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Proficiency in MS Office Suite preferred.
