A global real estate services firm is currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position: Tax Accountant – New York, NYJob Summary The Tax Accountant will prepare and review tax returns and related reports to ensure firm’s compliance with all federal, state and local tax laws and regulations. This position will assist in research and planning for federal, state, local international areas and assist in the preparation of the tax provision for the financial statements. Principal Responsibilities Prepares corporate and subsidiary federal, state and local tax returns Analyzes and reclassifies statistical and financial information furnished by corporate accounting, payroll and corporate commission departments Prepares various statistical and financial reports which include entries to adjust actual basis book income to cash basis taxable income Maintain tax records Performs tax planning for federal, state, local and international tax matters Assists federal, state and local tax auditors as required Prepares monthly and year end tax provisions Analyzes deferred tax accounts Assists in analyzing and researching expatriate tax issues and calculates tax gross up Researches technical federal, state and international tax issues in connection with the preparation of returns, and in response to questions arising from operations Provides other service lines and departments with tax information Responsible for maintaining the fast tax software system May transport heavy documents, e.g. binders of tax returns which may weigh ten to twenty pounds in performance of duties Performs other office functions as necessary and applicable which may include, but are not limited to, photocopying, faxing and transporting and retrieving files and other relevant documentation Performs special assignments as requested by Tax Director or Corporate Tax Manager or other members of management Required SkillsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required M.B.A., C.P.A. or equivalent preferred Minimum of one to three years tax accounting experience Excellent analytical skills required Excellent oral and written communication skills required If you have the skills necessary to thrive in a fast paced environment, we offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits package and a genuine career opportunity.
