Staff Accountant

The Council of Residential Specialists (CRS), an affiliate of The National Association of REALTORS®, is in search of a Staff Accountant.  The Council is composed of over 47,000 Certified Residential Specialists (CRS) Designees and Candidates/General Members. The association was created to recruit and retain those REALTORS® and international real estate professionals seeking the knowledge, tools and relationship-building opportunities and referral opportunities they need to maximize their income and professionalism in residential real estate.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT ALL-INCLUSIVE):

The Staff Accountant will primarily process accounts receivable batches and payments; close, balance and distribute processed batches and update member information on database. Will assist the Director of Finance in month-end close and varied and miscellaneous duties as well as month end processing functions. 

 Input all check and credit payments into the membership database.  Create invoices when necessary and apply payment.

· Open payment batches and coordinate distribution and closing with appropriate departments; heck for accuracy and reasonableness and appropriate action taken to complete task.  Reconcile E-commerce batches daily.

· Update member information on database as needed and annually during update period.

 Assist in month end processing, reporting and account reconciliation. 

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS):

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, and 2 years of related experience required.

The ideal candidate will have experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and budgeting; will have ability to accurately and quickly enter data; possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills along with exceptional analytical, organizational and time-management skills.  The Staff Accountant should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access in addition to database experience.  Additionally, strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, be a team player, work with minimal direction and have ability to take initiative are essential.
