Cushman & Wakefield is currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position: Senior Buyer – New York, NYJob Summary Responsible for procuring assigned commodities and services through sourcing, negotiating and contracting. Focuses on developing and administering long-term contracts, sealed bids, RFP’s and other cost savings tools. Promotes the most effective use of Company funds in the acquisition of goods and services and maintains a high level of ethics in the execution of the function. Evaluates market conditions, trends and provides solutions that improve service and reduce cost. Assists in effectively developing, communicating and implementing procedures and strategies. Conducts analysis, audits and reporting related to detailed procurement programs. Corresponds and establishes relationships with suppliers. Provides general support to Director, Corporate Procurement with regard to program administration, research and a variety of projects. Requires the use of independent judgment. Principal Responsibilities Works as a pro-active member of the Procurement Department to assist in leading and coordinating the implementation of national / regional programs Interfaces with internal clients and team members to maximize the value of programs once implemented Prepares RFPs, Bids, and manages contracts for corporate-wide programs and initiatives Negotiates with vendors for goods and services, negotiating the best possible price and service level agreements Serves as a company wide base of knowledge for electronic commerce, procurement initiatives, e-procurement projects and transactions Creates spreadsheets and other measuring tools to evaluate complex pricing agreements Recommends and establishes enhancement vehicles to current programs via research, internal surveys, supplier consolidation, and pricing Conducts price audits on current supplier contracts to ensure price compliance with stated agreements and market competitiveness Prepares cost analysis for potential suppliers for comparison with current suppliers and provides a recommendation based on findings Identifies potential opportunities for cost savings on various components of corporate spending Researches company wide buying trends through internal surveys and queries; formulates research results and presents sourcing plan to the Procurement Director Utilizes PeopleSoft reporting capabilities to analyze vendor usage, company spend, etc. Conducts queries and ascertains adoption rates for centralized national programs and addresses program noncompliance accordingly Performs quarterly supplier reviews to ensure programs are efficient, generating proposed cost savings, and suggests program enhancement tools to current programs Utilizing established guidelines inspects facilities and services (such as administrative process, customer service, scope of services) of potential and current suppliers to an extent deemed necessary. Serves as a liaison between internal clients and suppliers in all service and product related issues Generates supplier financial reports (i.e. D&B reports) to validate prospective Cushman & Wakefield suppliers Ensures that requisitioners remain informed of the status of their requests Effectively addresses supplier and administrative issues for all locations and accounts payable Maintains active / updated file of all national contracts, contacts, program data and support documents Qualifications College degree/CPM a plus Required SkillsDemonstrated ability to interface with senior level executives Ability to think and work independently Demonstrated ability to negotiate with outside vendors Ability to think and work independently Ability to recommend and identify program enhancements Demonstrated record of innovation and problem solving Ability to work on multiple projects and assignments with minimal supervision Ability to resolve escalation issues and problems Strong oral and written communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel If you have the skills necessary to thrive in a fast paced environment, we offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits package and a genuine career opportunity.
