Service Engineer Manager
Description:JOB SUMMARY Responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating and supervising all facility repair and maintenance activities as performed by the Service Technicians and Service Engineers in their assigned portfolios.**** Position located in Fresno, CA **** ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:Make routine inspections of portfolio (frequency dictated by client). Tour portfolio periodically with Service Technicians/Engineers (visit Branch Manager if available for service review) and report any deficiencies to Management - Log all reports for review with photos if applicable- Along with site inspection, do a formal follow-up on any P1 or P2 calls for that site, which have been completed by technicians and make notations on inspection form and photos if applicable- Get work order history prior to inspectionSet up and give safety training to all technicians annually as well as set up and coordinate on-going in-house training on a regularly scheduled basis, as required Train Service Technicians working on critical sites on the CEWA process and update every six (6) monthsSupport Facilities Management in the development and updating of preventive maintenance and engineering procedures; hazardous materials communication plan, indoor air quality programs, preventive maintenance programsAssist in operating and capital budget preparation, operating cost estimates and comparisons; life safety programs and procedures, enforcement of EPA and OSHA complianceOversee all building systems, including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC and electrical issues; must stay current with latest HVAC technology trends, including HVAC system comparison and recommendations; HVAC systems and start-up monitoring; evaluate and recommend building automation, energy management and automatic temperature control systems; provide general quality control (regardless of service provider)Support vendor management initiatives, including: maintenance efforts with outside contractors, tenant finish personnel and engineers and develop specifications and assist in solicitation and administration of maintenance/repair service contractsRespond immediately to emergency situations and customer concernsPerform all work to industry standards and maintain a professional manner and appearance at all timesComply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives as related to building operations and practice safe work habitsOther duties may be assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise Service Engineers and Service Technicians, including hiring, training, personnel development, etc.Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GED equivalent5 years related trade experience in a building-related tradeTechnical, vocational or on-the-job training in at least one of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair OR any similar combination of education and experienceCERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES Must be certified as a Universal Technician for CFCsPossess and maintain a valid drivers license and good driving record with periodic checksCOMMUNICATION SKILLSAbility to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to effectively respond to sensitive issues, complex inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, supervisor, and/or management. Ability to make effective presentations on general topics to an internal department, large group of employees, clients, and/or management. Ability to motivate employees and client groups to take desired action.FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Able to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts complex financial/business analysis including the preparation of complex reports.
