JOB SUMMARY

The Sales Engineering Associate performs internal and external customer-facing engineering functions in support of customer acquisition, installation scope and custom construction scope of data center facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supporting sales teams in technical sales and solutions in all markets Direct prospect engagement leading building and site tours, sales calls and proposal generation, pricing and contract negotiations Provide primary input channel for operations from sales teams Preliminary design, presentation and evaluation of customer solutions Primary responder for all customer RFIs, RFQs & RFPs Develop "cost-engineering" and profitability models for large customer opportunities Supporting Design and Construction Team in regional markets Provide input, support and essential "local knowledge" for construction projects in a particular region The junior sales engineer will have knowledge related to the infrastructure, nuances and pitfalls associated with assigned buildings Act as an "eyes-on" resource for remote design and construction teams during bid, construction and commissioning processes Lead generation through professional contacts and networking Additional Responsibilities: Participate in forecasting, pipeline and market analysis Liaise with professional community; attend technical forums and present papers at industry events Monitor and evaluate trends in prospect, customer and target tenant base

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a physical science or engineering discipline. Equivalent educational and professional experience may substitute for this requirement Three or more years of experience in mission-critical construction, collocation, hosting, facilities, telecommunications, networking, Internet or related fields Requires direct experience in sales, sales engineering and/or design and construction of mission critical facilities. Expert application software skills including MS Word, MS Excel, AutoCAD, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat Demonstrate ability to work well under pressure with a proactive approach to unusual occurrences Requires good organizational skills, attention to detail and an openness to new ideas and procedures Experience with CFD modeling software applications
