An established real estate company based in Los Angeles seeks a Development Director to manage, coordinate and direct a variety of development projects from inception to completion.  The Development Director will work with the management team to develop strategies, concepts and plans for the full development of projects in order to advance the overall mission of the company. 

 

Job Description: 

  Manage day to day implementation of real estate development projects.

Direct market, financial feasibility, design and other studies necessary and suitable to the projects and integrate these studies into development plans and proposals.   

Develop and maintain project budgets, operating proformas and other analyses necessary to monitor and test the financial feasibility of the projects; support the company in securing project financing. 

Manage and assemble an appropriate team of qualified experts including Architects, Engineers, Contractors, etc. to move projects forward.  Secure necessary permits and approvals.  

Prepare and maintain development schedules and report development progress according to project schedule and internal requirements. 

  

Qualifications: 



A minimum of 5 years commercial development project management experience.  BS or BA in civil engineering, architecture, construction management, business or other related field.  Background in finance and/or planning preferred.       Proficiency in MS Project and AutoCAD. 



Ability to understand plans and contracts with knowledge of entitlement and permitting. 



Ability to respond professionally and appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and balanced temperament.



Strong follow-up and follow-through skills



Dependable, consistent and prompt attendance with a willingness to work evening and weekend hours when necessary.  



Excellent communication and negotiation skills.



Professional team player with positive attitude.



 

The applicant MUST have at least 5 years of construction and project management experience.
