Job Summary
Supervise and administer project EH&S programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Responsibilities

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities and skills required of personnel so classified. Assist in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through interface with EH&S Team as well as Project Management/Operational Teams.
Assist in preparation and updating of site-specific safety manual. Including project emergency action procedures, including work assignments, personnel administration, staffing and training for emergency contingency plans.
Develop and conduct site-specific orientation program. Implement program for staff and subcontractors.
Assist with the documentation & investigation of all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions and activities.
Accompany OSHA compliance officers and insurance inspectors during on site audits and assist in preparation of written appeals for citations (as required).
Assist in training staff employees when needed.
Perform additional assignments as directed by Regional EH&S Manager or EH&S Manager.

Minimum Requirements
NYC Site and Safety License RequiredFour-year occupational safety/health degree or equivalent combinations of training and three to five years related experience. Thorough understanding of construction. Ability to interpret and provide solutions based on federal, state, local and company EH&S regulations. Capable of identifying and evaluating hazardous EH&S situations and recommending corrective measures. Up to date (within two years) OSHA Certification. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
