Job Requirements

 

Qualifications

 ·         Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance or a related field is required.

·         CPA Certification is a plus.

·         Advanced skill in Microsoft EXCEL and basic skills in other Microsoft Applications.

·        Hands-on experience with popular accounting software.

·  Experience with Yardi Knowledge is a plus.

·  Experience in Real Estate industry is a Plus.

 

Job Description

Seeking a portfolio accountant for a full time position. The portfolio accountant will be responsible for the following.

o        Perform accounting functions for real estate co-mingled funds and separate investor accounts.

o        Prepare quarterly financial reports and supplemental schedules for investors, utilizing Fair Value Accounting.

o        Monitor daily fund-level cash activity, including wire processing, accounts payable and deposits.

o        Coordinate and review monthly third party property management reports and record activity at the fund-level.

o        Maintain monthly general ledger for investment portfolios and individual properties.

o        Work directly with acquisition personnel and third party property management companies to properly record asset acquisitions and dispositions.

o        Prepare monthly bank requisitions for fund-level accounts.

o        Calculate performance returns in accordance with current industry standards.

o        Calculate internal rates of return for both fund level and asset level.

o        Determine and provide quarterly cash distributions to fund investors and venture partners in compliance with partnership and corporation agreements.

o        Monitory mezzanine loan investments, invoice borrower interest payments and ensure borrower compliance with terms of the loan agreements.

o        Interact with investors, consultants to provide requested investment analysis.

o        Assist in annual audit process.

o        Assist with various special projects.
