Human Resources Service Center Manager
We are a dynamic, growing Commercial Real Estate Investment Company in Orange County, CA and we currently have an opportunity for a Human Resources Service Center Manager.
The Human Resources Service Center manager is responsible for management of the Human Resources Service Center which operates as the primary point of contact for HR to process and resolve requests from employees, retirees and internal/external customers of Grubb & Ellis.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Evaluates customer service standards, managing proper staffing and coverage levels, and developing opportunities to increase HRSC/HRIS utilization and expansion of services.
Manages the day-to-day operations of the HRSC as it relates to benefits, employee relations, payroll and other HR related topics. Including call monitoring, trend analysis, and ensuring the department meets service goals/standards.
Assist in providing support, counsel and direction to Field Human Resources Leaders on level 1 employee relations issues and policy and procedure clarification.
Work with department head and the Legal Department to research and interpret employment laws, (FLSA, EEOC, etc) for specific employment relations. Makes recommendations and advises management and staff regarding employee practices and procedures, and state and federal law.
Monitors and administers disciplinary procedures for staff in compliance with state and federal law and company policies and procedures.
Prepare documentation and reports on investigative activities and actions taken.
Oversees and analyzes accurate and timely input of HR data into the HRIS system.
Serve as manager of the HR Service Center employees; delivering on customer service criteria, monitoring progress and providing ongoing feedback to improve performance. Coaches, trains and motivates staff to maximize their potential and performance.
Develop relationships between business and support units to ensure service levels are effectively managed. Promote synergy between all HR functional areas.
Evaluates and anticipates work volume and assigns/distributes work among the staff accordingly. Identifies opportunities to improve customer service.
Conduct trend analysis regarding the types of calls and issues coming into the HR Service Center (investigate, communicate and resolve). Involve functional areas as necessary.
Manage project and program development using clearly defined project plans, assign accountability, deliver results and determine measurements for success. Communicate effectively with all parties involved.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the cross functional processes within the Human Resources Group.
Update monthly reporting of HR Service Center transactions to include cases, calls and data entry activity.
Required qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent from a four year college required.
A minimum of 5-7 years of Human Resources Experience.
PHR/SPHR preferred.
Strong knowledge of regulatory environments.
Ability to communicate with others and to assimilate and understand information, to make sound decisions in accordance with company policies.
Previous experience working with Ultimate (UltiPro) Software and/or Time and
Attendance systems preferred.
Project Management experience highly desired.
Microsoft Office proficiency (Intermediate-Advanced) required.
