Desktop Architect

Due to business demands, Simpson Housing is currently seeking a Desktop Solutions Engineer/Architect to augment the Information Technology team at the corporate offices located in the Denver Tech Center. This key staff position will be responsible for the following:

* Configures, deploys, and integrates strategic desktop solutions into existing network architectures

* Investigates and evaluates of strategic desktop solutions in support of end user requirements

* Designs, develops, and deploys standardized desktop and laptop images

* Develops and maintains configuration management documentation and procedures relating to strategic desktop solutions

* Performs system performance reviews and trend analysis on strategic desktop solutions and provides efficiency recommendations

* Provides customer service and training to end users as necessary


Qualified candidates will possess the following:

* Minimum of three years of practical technical desktop support experience in a medium to large enterprise computing environment

* Experience installing, supporting and troubleshooting Windows XP client applications including Microsoft Office 2003 Suite, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet Explorer

* Working knowledge and use of Microsoft scripting technologies such as VBScript, WScript, WMI, and Batch Files

* Detailed understanding of Client Group Policy management

* Understanding of LAN/WAN communication structure

* Knowledge of Microsoft Patch release cycle and patch deployment methodologies

* Working knowledge of Windows XP registry and associated hive structure

* Experience with desktop image creation and deployment using Symantec Ghost
