Business Intelligence Architect

Summary

This position will be a contributor to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications primarily relating to the areas of data warehouse architecture, reporting solutions, data conversion efforts, and user training. The person in this position will be assigned to projects as well as have a lead role in the technical aspects of developing and maintaining portions of the BI environment.  Under the guidance of the immediate manager, this person will interface with internal users, staff members, IS colleagues and other stakeholders to provide appropriate and timely solutions.

 Possess a good understanding of database theory.Strong data modeling tendencies for:Dimensional modeling for data warehousingRelational modelingAbility to architect data warehouse environments.Articulate technical issues to an end user.Strong understanding of the SQL language.Possess good analytical and problem solving abilities.Ability to work with many different technical tools.Strong understanding of how data structures satisfy and relate to business functions.Ability to design, model, build, and deploy BI solutions.Ability to construct the correct data foundation based on the users real needs as opposed to the perceived needs based on the stated business requirements.Possess a strong understanding of the project life cycle from a BI perspective.
