Business Development Equipment Specialist - MD/DC
Mac-Gray Corporation (NYSE: TUC), headquartered in Waltham, MA, is a leading provider of branded laundry products and services to the retail Laundromat market, in addition to serving the laundry facility needs within the multi-housing industry, college and university market. Mac-Gray is a significant supplier for several best in class equipment manufacturers, including the Maytag brand, for which we are the nations largest distributor.
Mac-Gray is searching for a highly motivated Business Development, Equipment Specialist to add to the dramatic growth that our Commercial Sales Division has experienced over the last few years. This individual will work out of their home office and will be responsible to manage and grow the established territory in and around Maryland and D.C and the surrounding areas.
The Business Development, Equipment Specialist will be an authority in the selling of replacement equipment to the existing laundry store market as well as sales to the On Presence Laundry channel. In addition a major responsibility will be the development of new store sales and investor development, accountable for representing Mac-Gray’s product lines to new investors, seeking out and cultivating new investors into the retail laundry industry. The sales process is comprised of prospecting for potential clients, developing strong store locations and selling the features and benefits of the branded commercial laundry product lines through Mac-Gray’s “ Best in Class” value proposition of products and service.
A review of responsibilities include:Build a database of locations Visit these retail laundry’s with branded selling collateralDevelop relationships based on Mac-Gray’s quality point of differenceDevelop store needs evaluate the replacement opportunity program from store visitsFollow up on Industry leadsCoordinate with the branch system the execution of deliveriesSeek out locations working with Commercial BrokersSeek out new and likeminded investors across multiple industriesRun Investment Seminars for New Investors and Profit Seminars for current laundry ownersCoordinate the financing process with 3rd party finance companies if requiredCoordinate the correct store equipment mixSeek out and develop a OPL (On Presence Laundry) program
You will be supported with local branches headquartered in Beltsville, MD. In addition all equipment training will be provided as well as education on Mac-Grays IT systems. You will be provide with state of the art systems in support of your efforts such as Laptop, Blackberry, Visio store computer graphic programs and mapping software.
The Sales Representative will report to the Vice President of Sales for the Commercial Division.
Requirements and Experience:
· Minimum 5 years successful relationship branded selling and business development experience.
· Previous sales training, with a proven track record of significant sales growth in competitive, independent outside sales atmosphere.
· Strong communication and presentation skills.
· 4-year college degree.
· Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Internet, Database and Order Management including strong CRM skills).
· Experience selling capital equipment and dealing with construction or contractors a plus.
Base salary will be commensurate with experience; plus commission.
