Building Engineer II (Office)
Position Description: Daily operation and maintenance of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and all other building systems. Electrical repair and troubleshooting. Perform preventive maintenance on building systems. Assist Engineering team members with their specific job duties and supervise when needed. Perform special projects as assigned. Inspect buildings, grounds and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions. Prioritize service calls, and follow – up upon completion. Assist with installation and modification of building equipment systems. Water treatment and testing. Operation of building automation system. Troubleshoot, evaluate and make recommendations to upgrade maintenance operations and/or implement savings opportunities. Order parts and supplies as required, maintain stock and inventory control. Coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors and technicians as directed by Chief Building Engineer Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all work areas. Works with Chief Engineer and Building Manager in planning and controlling of annual and capital budgets. Respond quickly to emergency situations Comply with all applicable codes and regulations of all governmental agencies having jurisdiction. Follow Company directives.Additional Qualifications: Intermediate Energy Management Training. Completion of College or Technical School HVAC Certification Program. Desired knowledge and understanding of blue prints. EPA 608 Universal Certification for refrigeration. Engineering Technical Training. Desired Completion of Building Operator Certification Level I or BOMI Systems Maintenance Technician Program. Desired Enrollment in Building Operator Certification Level II or BOMI Systems Maintenance Administrator Program. Driver’s license required. Must possess basic hand tools and VOM. Proven record of excellent customer service. Strong organization and communication skills. Intermediate to advance computer skills. Leadership and team building skills.Qualifications:Five to eight years of experience in building operations/engineering and maintaining equipment and systems, or related work experience.
