Accounts Receivable Specialist

Property Management firm is currently seeking an accounts receivable specialist to join the accounting team.  In this role, you will be responsible for all functions in the AR department including but not limited to billing, cash applications, collections and report generation.  This position will evolve as the AR processes are refined and updated.

 

As the accounts receivable specialist, you will:

 

*Create invoices based on received customer statements in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with company policy.

* Apply cash receipts daily.  Prepare bank deposits and apply deposits and wire transfers to the appropriate customer accounts. Contact customers as needed for payment clarifications

*Contact customers to follow up for collections and maintain weekly collections log.

*Reconcile accounts as needed to maintain accurate AR balances.

*Prepare credit memo and refund requests for review and approval by management. 

*File all appropriate paperwork in a timely manner into the customer files. 

*Assist with special ad-hoc projects and accounts payable tasks as well as reporting as needed.

 

Requirements for this position:

*BA/BS degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance (MUST)

*Minimum 2-3 years of accounts receivable experience. 

*Solid knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

*Detail oriented with clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.

*Ability to work well independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines.

*Ability to work with and communicate to all levels of management.

*High proficiency level in Excel and all Office products.

*Strong organizational skills.

*Experience in real estate/property management (MUST)
