We are seeking a freelance multimedia project manager for our digital products group, based in our corporate office on the waterfront in Hoboken, New Jersey. In this role, under the direction of a Media Editor, you will assist in supporting the project management and development of multiple new technology products for the Higher Education market with high priority schedules and deadlines. You will also be responsible for managing some smaller projects independently. In this fast paced, exciting department, you will interact heavily with editors, authors and developers.
In this role, you will utilize organizational and multimedia skills to manage projects: detail project site plans in Excel and/or Wiley’s content management system, create and maintain HTML files, manipulate images using PhotoShop or Illustrator, apply logical naming conventions, convert/transfer/archive files, utilize FTP and burn CDs. Knowledge of Excel, HTML coding, DreamWeaver, PhotoShop, ftp file management, Adobe Acrobat Professional very helpful. Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects with many assets is required.
Success in this position is dependent upon the ability to correctly format and manipulate files, track these details of file conversion and submission to developers, as well as quality assurance of completed products. The ideal candidate will meet the technical requirements above and would have experience in either publishing or project management. Experience with Microsoft Project and content management systems is a plus.
We have openings for upper level project managers who will handle more complex, higher priority projects and for lower level project managers who will handle more basic projects and discrete tasks. Recent college grads will be considered.
This is a freelance position for 35 hours per week and is not eligible for benefits.
