Merion Publications Inc., publishers of the Award-Winning Advance Newsmagazines, is committed to creating a solid web presence by continuously investing in talented team members. We are looking for a mid-level web designer to join our talented web design team. The Web Designer is responsible for creating HTML layouts and web graphics in support of our various online offerings. This includes optimizing and enhancing product images for our e-commerce sites. Additionally, they will be supporting the web design team in various projects including the development of HTML e-mails, web ads, promotional materials and website enhancements.

Responsibilities:

 Provide support to the Web design team on large-scale projects-including the creation of specific graphics, sections and/or HTML layouts utilizing CSS Update and maintain graphics and/or Flash components of multiple websites. Create HTML e-mail in support of company products and services Color correct and silhouette product images and produce web graphics for our
e-commerce sites Create graphics for our publication websites, including lead feature graphics, online photo galleries and various images/icons as requested Update/maintain our intranet or other internal Web pages as needed Serve as back-up for ad, editorial and other archiving efforts

Requirements:College degree in Interactive Design, Multimedia Design or related field 2+ years of professional work experience in the field  Understanding of user interface design and information architecture Strong working knowledge of HTML and CSS Experience working in both Mac and PC environments Strong working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver; Flash and  Fireworks a plus Cross-browser compatibility, ActionScript skills and/or experience working in a .NET environment a plus

Your Web design portfolio should display your capacity for designing creative website solutions, intuitive interfaces and eye-catching typography.
