System Administrator

Blanks/USA is a nationally recognized provider of printed die cut, perforated, and scored paper products.  Blanks/USA is looking for a System Administrator with three to five years experience in an AS400/iSeries environment.  We are looking for an individual who is has the experience and desire to be the only person in charge of all our company’s computer hardware and software needs.  The successful candidate must possess strong communication and organization skills along with a self-motivated drive to get the job done.

 

Responsibilities of the System Administrator include:

·  Maintenance of all systems, networks, servers, workstations in term of hardware needs.

·  Understanding Mapics software to accommodate training, troubleshooting and customization of base package.

·  Coordinate with departments and branches on defining needs and requirements for IBM hardware and related software. Prioritize needs and make recommendations.

·  Plan and coordinate IBM hardware upgrades as well as ERP software upgrades.

·  Knowledge in iSeries query design. Design new queries, change and maintain existing queries.

·  Monitor day-end procedures on a daily basis to be sure everything has completed before business hours.

·  Plan and coordinate yearly physical inventory.

·  Maintain IBM related system software files. Delete, reorganize and save to tape when necessary.

·  Responsible for backup procedures to ensure adequate disaster recovery of ERP applications.

·  Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.

·  Telephone system maintenance.

·  Updating our website and troubleshooting problems.

·  Planning for & maintaining proper security protocols.

·  Providing assistance to staff for IT issues.
