Sports Advertising Sales Representative

This is a full-time position that reports to the Advertising Sales Manager. Sales Representatives are responsible for attaining budgeted sales goals, account management, and servicing the client list that they are given. Responsibilities include the specific duties listed below, as well as any additional tasks needed to attain their sales.

Responsibilities:

Demonstrate effective and professional sales skills consistently
Efficiently execute a consistently high number of outbound Advertising Sales Calls
Multi-task to effectively handle all tasks involved with a hectic deadline schedule
Develop the sales territory through prospecting for new account opportunities
Assist advertising clients in scheduling/layout/marketing
Assist advertising clients in maintaining an acceptable payment status/schedule
Give input and make contributions to improve our products and the markets we work in
Work occasional industry trade shows throughout the country
Effectively communicate via telephone, in person and in written correspondence
Assist in training new salespeople and cover accounts while other salespeople are on vacation or otherwise absent
Learn and be able to accurately use the AS400 system for inputting ad schedules and billing information, as well as other Microsoft Office programs, such as Outlook, Word and Excel

Qualifications:
2-year degree minimum; plus 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

The ideal candidate for this position will be enthusiastic and motivated by the opportunities a commission pay system affords. The candidate will also be well organized and have an appropriate degree with experience in advertising sales. Familiarity and interest in the sports field is a plus.
