Overall, the position of Senior Manager, Strategic Planning, PlayStation Network (PSN) is expected to partner with the organization to be accountable for providing the PSN Senior Director and cross-functional teams with strategic planning and analytical support across all major business initiatives. Primary areas of focus include the PlayStation Network service as a whole, PlayStation Home, PlayStation.com, PlayStation Store, CRM and other PSN related programs. The Senior Manager will report to the Senior Director, PlayStation Network. Specific responsibilities include:
Provide internal strategic consult to Senior Director and executive management via continuous assessment of the business and industry. Audit emerging technologies and the market landscape to inform business and product decisions. Perform competitive research to keep stakeholders abreast of market landscape. Oversee quantitative and qualitative research, including consumer insight analysis. Perform complex analyses and provide advisement to senior management on data interpretation to help guide key decisions around operations, strategic initiatives and corporate goals. Analyze business data and develop reporting to help monitor key performance indicators; help translate data and analysis into key highlights/insights. Develop financial models and provide analysis of existing models to optimize revenue across PSN business streams. Interact with leaders and stakeholders across broad spectrum of functions and levels to uncover key issues and solutions. Manage external consultant and vendor relationships as needed. Access data warehouse systems and programs to obtain data for analysis. Oversee one employee, a Finance Operations Manger, with potential for team growth to meet business needs. Provide daily oversight, career management and performance review of employee. Would be responsible for hiring and firing reporting team. Oversee PSN financial and performance reports (PSN Scorecard). Analyze PSN performance and develop annual targets to measure success. Work closely with Senior Director and subordinate to execute financial planning and administration including budget planning and cost oversight. Conduct and present business case analysis for new opportunities and underperforming projects. Create scenario planning models for potential initiatives to help inform decision-making. Provide speech and presentation support to executives including the creation of charts and diagrams to relate findings or support communication points. Participate in analyst interviews with Corporate Communications as needed.
Requirements:Excellent intrapersonal skills required - must be able to effectively interact with wide variety of functions and levels. Must be comfortable and credible in front of senior executives. Must have strong diplomatic and intrapersonal skills to foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across PSN and SCEA. Must have ability to maintain strict confidentiality with privileged information, work well with others and handle a high-pressure environment. Make good, timely decisions in relatively fast-paced situations. It is imperative to show respect for individuals in all situations, build effective working relationships inside and outside the work group and use the utmost professionalism with sub-ordinates, peers and executives. Must solve routine problems effectively and react with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround. Ability to interact professionally and diplomatically through multiple groups a must. MBA from top business school required. Must be resourceful and an adept problem solver. Must have strong analytic skills and be able to conduct rigorous quantitative analysis. Must be inquisitive and curious-minded. Must have knack for seeing the big picture. Must be able to quickly develop a strategic grasp of how decisions will affect PSN in the marketplace. Must be focused on and eager to provide support to PSN Senior Director and line-of-business heads. Should be self-motivated. Strong oral, written, and presentation skills required. Must be articulate and professional. Must be comfortable presenting to senior executives. Must be able to convey complex information and analysis in easy-to-understand terms. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required. 4+ years in e-commerce or media industry preferred. Experience in strategy position or strategic consulting background preferred. Gaming industry experience not required, but personal interest preferred.
