Foster City, California Responsibilities:
The Product Marketing Manager is expected to manage the marketing of software in all areas of product marketing. Specific job responsibilities include:Manage products through their entire lifecycle from early design phase through post-launch, managing the P&L and brand plan. Work closely with Sr. PM / Director on brand development and management. Assist in defining product features and direction, establishing long-term goals and brand metrics for success. Develop and implement strategic positioning, define and set budgets with team Director of Software Marketing, create marketing plans, and collaborate for all other cross-functional teams to deliver a fully integrated product launch. Plan and develop marketing communications, advertising, promotional and PR programs to enhance sales of his/her product(s). This will include consulting with management and other SCE territories (Europe, Japan, Asia) and working directly with the ad agency in strategic planning, creative execution and media planning. Includes a heavy dose of production (all mediums). Provide strategic and creative direction to implement packaging, point of purchase and sales collateral design and production while working with a vendor and the Creative Services department. Conduct and analyze market research data to define product positioning, as well as monitor competitive activity, marketing campaign metrics, and identify consumer needs, including post-mortems on releases. Manage vendor/licenser relationships including communication, working with Legal and Business Development on licensing, acquiring approvals and relationship development. Work closely with product development on product positioning, features, enhancements, and timelines - utilizing market research and other analysis to aid in the development of sequels and new products.

Skills / Requirements: Requires a BA in Business, Marketing or Communications (MBA preferred) or equivalent, excellent communication /organizational skills, minimum 5 years of marketing consumer brands with gaming knowledge/experience a plus. Must have a basic understanding of media, its role within a marketing campaign, and the production process. Prior experience with TV production is preferred. Solid foundation in brand and/or product marketing. Gaming knowledge a plus. Must have vendor/agency management experience, particularly as it pertains to the launch of new products. Must have led the development of marketing campaign(s), including strategic development and planning, packaging, leading internal teams and working with external vendors. Your work will be reviewed and measured based on your ability to set and meet defined objectives and schedules. Candidate may supervise direct reports, which would potentially require the hiring of said report. Manage sub-ordinate/s daily work and provide performance evaluations and career planning for employee. Ability to lead teams to achieve products’ set goals and objectives. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with privileged information, work well with others and handle a high-pressure environment. Make good, timely decisions in relatively fast-paced situations. Ability to create product positioning and set goals and objectives with methods to measure success and failures. Strategic thinking required for creating and implementing marketing plans and creative briefs. Strong oral and written communication skills required. Must be articulate and professional, as this position is required to present to several groups internally and externally – including the press. Well-written, lucid plans and briefs are essential. Clear and concise email communication is also important. Basic understanding of game development preferred, but not required. Basic understanding of video game or PC accessories a plus. Proficiency in using Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet applications.
