Foster City, California We are seeking a Developer Relations Account Manager to work with North American third-party developers. Interested applicants should be outgoing, well versed in game development processes and trends, and enjoy traveling to talk with game developers on-site and at industry events.
Responsibilities: Account Manager, Developer Relations, ensures the proper management of our third party developer accounts. Works effectively at the technical and executive level, and fosters strong business relationship with third party developer accounts. Communicates effectively all SCEA goals and identifies and pursues areas of business development interest to the company. Serves as single point of contact with respect to business issues. Provides guidance and support regarding product development for third party published titles. Closely monitors title progress, identifies and addresses needed areas for developer technical support including game evaluation, R&D, etc., and helps maximize product development quality for our PlayStation® system. Also manages (participates) the design, development and implementation of many ongoing policies and procedures for servicing third party developers, and (contributes) establishes strategic plans and objectives for the Developer Support and Third Party Relation Groups. Further, participates in the Product Proposal Group, for support insight and quality standards for future products. Analyzes all complicated business relationship issues and proposes well-developed solutions for resolution. In addition, creatively manages the negotiated terms which govern complex business relationships with developers in such areas as intellectual property and licensed trademarks, restrictions of trade and unfair business practices, product liability, and royalty arrangements. Moreover, inputs and suggests the activities related to budget planning and control and business planning and development to management. Exercises a wide latitude of discretionary decision-making authority over all day-to-day matters related to the management of our third party developer accounts and business development. Collaborates with other groups (R&D, 3P) to set priorities for developer travel. Regular travel to accounts on an as needed basis. Share information using common database. Developer submission/approval process.
Qualifications Required:Minimum 7 years relevant product development experience, 3 of which should have been in a management position (producer or equivalent) - having worked on at least 3 shipped products. Good high-level technical knowledge. Ability to think strategically and prioritize tasks. Ability to plan and implement sound business strategies. Excellent knowledge of the console industry and development landscape. Good knowledge of modern development methodologies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Familiar with MS Office programs.
Desired:Familiar with SCE policies and procedures. Experience of game design. Development-related business development experience.
