Senior User Experience Designer

Dallasnews.com currently has an opening for a Senior User Experience Designer. This position requires a creative, motivated, organized, fast worker with superior design skills and experience defining design strategy across a family of interactive/digital distribution platforms/products and applications such as online, mobile and downloadable content. Candidates for this position must be able to juggle multiple priorities and work autonomously or collaboratively with stakeholders from many departments while negotiating and communicating the needs of those departments. Candidates must possess a keen understanding while staying up-to-date on visual trends, interactive design/user experienc best practices and successfully follows a user-centered design process. Candidates must also possess experience with user research and usability testing and uses that experience to improve user productivity among our products. This position is responsible for designing web sites, micro-sites, online presentations, flash applications, screen designs/prototypes, wireframses, storyboards, database applications and animated sequences for a variety of products and platforms using rapid prototyping and frequent visual collaboration with other team members to inform design decisions.

9+ CEUs of usability training or usability analyst certification.

Degree in graphic design/visual communication, product application design, information architecture, human computer interaction or related field.

6+ years experience designing visually stunning interactive user interfaces for large websites, software applications or agencies.

Thorough understanding of business objectives and ROI.

Strong portfolio of user interface designs, web sites, wireframes, experience storyboards.
