Senior Tax Manager
Leading entertainment publisher, developer and distributor is looking for a senior tax manager to join their team. In this role you will responsible for preparing effective tax rates, public reporting footnotes, disclosure statements and FIN 48 and FAS 109 impact on quarterly and annual financial reporting. You will also prepare complex analyses and reconciliations, and identify and research various transactions and tax-related issues as well as manage and sustain SOX compliance.
Responsibilities:
*Assist with quarterly and year-end close processes: perform tax provision analyses and calculations, balance sheet account reconciliations, and pro-forma financial statement footnote disclosures, and related maintenance and reconciliation of the company's deferred tax balances; calculate estimated overall tax rate for budget and forecasts.
*Assist with consolidation and review of annual budget and monthly/quarterly taxable income forecasts developed by the company's business units as well as with production of resulting FASB 109 and FIN 48 tax provisions and cash forecasts.
*Assist Director with development and implementation of worldwide tax strategies that meet company tax objectives.
*Assist Director with worldwide transfer pricing requirements including coordination with internal personnel and external advisors.
*Assist Director with development and maintenance of tax reporting processes that will ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
*Analyze company accounting and tax procedures and identify opportunities for streamlining or redesigning tax processes and GAAP differences for statutory tax reporting.
*Assist Director with ensuring global tax compliance and operations: coordinate foreign tax reporting process, including analysis of potential tax exposures, evaluate foreign tax treaties, and quantify any impact to company's foreign operations.
*Analyze industry specific issues and how such issues impact tax reporting; ensure tax reporting compliance (franchise, sales tax, property, etc.); assist other team members in meeting tax compliance reporting requirements.
*Collaborate with external/government auditors and/or internal Legal and Finance management to facilitate tax audits, respond to tax-related inquiries and concerns, and resolve tax-related problems, including those involving business transactions, mergers, acquisitions, etc.
*Research and implement adherence to new tax laws; assess potential or actual tax impact; make recommendations to Director for response, internal changes, etc.
*Review all tax returns, extensions and estimated payments prepared by third-party providers.
*Execute special projects as directed.
Qualifications/Skills:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 6+ years of progressively responsible financial accounting and taxation experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA/MS and/or CPA preferred.
*Detailed knowledge of FAS 109.
*Knowledge of internal control documentation requirements for tax processes under Sarbanes-Oxley.
*Knowledge of U.S. taxation of domestic and international transactions.
*Excellent organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
*Detail focus with ability to make sound business decisions and see their larger implications.
*Ability to work flexibly, both independently and as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment in order to meet changing business priorities.
*Ability to effectively communicate with business managers and develop relationships with senior management and staff members within all departments.
