Product Manager, DC Direct - Toy Licensing

DC Comics seeks a Product Manager, DC Direct for the DC Toys & Collectibles department. Position will help research and recommend properties available for licensing. Assist in presentations to secure new licenses. Assist in finalizing contracts. After license is finalized: establish timelines from production to marketing to sales, propose distribution channels, recommend marketing calendar and associated activities. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and on-strategy execution. Manage relationships with licensors to ensure that approvals are obtained for product line, marketing strategy, and all other business activities. Secure assets from licensor to support development of all product, consumer marketing and trade support materials. Lead all communication on licensed brand and products to ensure consistent message in support DC sales activities, marketing materials and product information in order to ensure a consistent message. Ensure all DC operations perform according to licensed contract, including shipping of contractual samples and payment of advances and royalties. Assist DC Direct business department by maintaining and updating the annual budget, tracking to initial forecast.

Requirements
BA/BS degree in Marketing, Business or other related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years’ related product management experience - preferably with a manufacturer of licensed toy or collectible product. Must have knowledge of the brands, licensors and competitors in the licensed collectibles marketplace. Must demonstrate ability to develop solid strategic product and marketing plans for assigned brands. Must have exceptional negotiations and relationship building skills. Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must possess strong organizational skills and be able to manage own workload, self-prioritize and achieve results. Must be a team-player, able to work in a fast-paced, high-energy and time sensitive environment with a cross-divisional and interdependent team. Must be flexible and open to change. Strong attention to detail needed. Must have excellent computer skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Ability to travel outside New York for up to a week at a time. Ability to work weekends on occasion. Ability to work overtime as needed.
