Printing Estimator

Description:
Packaging specialty (folding carton) printer / converter in Addison Illinois seeks an experienced Printing Estimator.  Must have experience in quoting print work and have good organizational and computer skills.  Good work ethics, accuracy, detail oriented, good people skills and quick turnaround of estimates are a must.  Experience in folding carton quotations is desirable, we will train on our computer estimating system.

Responsibilities include working with our sales staff, CSRs, customers and production staff to document a potential job's requirements.  Producing an estimate / customer quotation on our estimating system, contacting paper suppliers and outside work sources for quotations and keeping paper inventory records up-to-date will also be this person's responsibility.  Some job costing to compare actual job costs to estimated costs, researching lower cost  suppliers andsome purchasing may also be required

Job Purpose:
Prepares cost estimates and customer quotes by analyzing proposals and requirements.

Duties:
* Prepares work to be estimated by gathering CAD drawings, specifications from sales or customers, and related documents.

* Identifies outside services, labor, stock, inks, manufacturing equipment to be used (print presses, die-cutters, etc), and time requirements by analyzing CAD drawings, specifications, and related documents.

* Computes costs on our Estimating software by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.

* Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

* Presents prepared estimate to Sales representative and faxing or emailing to customer

* Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

* Maintains cost and paper inventory data base by entering and backing up data.

* Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.

* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
