Marketing Manager-Elementary Literacy

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for providing strategic and successful marketing direction for Elementary Literacy. There is one opening for open territory. Together with Marketing Leadership and in collaboration with Sales, Product Development, and Product Management, the Marketing Manager will lead a team in the development and execution of marketing campaigns at the national and state level, as well as to maximize opportunities to drive sales, ensure revenue growth and expand penetration within existing markets. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: ' Coordinate with the Literacy Marketing Director and Sales force to create and execute integrated campaigns that will increase market share and maximize revenue. ' Develop effective marketing and launch plans ensuring their successful execution. This includes, but is not limited to: develop a differentiated sales message, product packaging, sample packaging, integrated print and technology promotional materials, sales presentations, and Free With Order templates.' Work with Product Management to conduct competitive analysis and provide the sales force with effective competitive selling strategies. ' Work with Literacy Marketing Director and Market Research to develop campaign market research in selected states.' Serve as the primary marketing contact for the field for selected product lines, areas, and/or major campaigns, gather market intelligence, and immediately adapt and respond to changing issues in the market. ' Supervise a team of direct/indirect reports.' Help develop and execute an effective plan for maximum marketing benefits at national and regional conferences.' Work with cross-functional teams, to plan and execute sales training ' Work with Bids and Contracts and sales to prepare submission documents, questionnaires, and other adoption related narratives' Interact in the field with customers, sales reps, curriculum specialists, and others to keep a pulse on the market as it relates to new products, sales story and customer needs. ' At least 5-8 years of Marketing experience in educational publishing, or combined experience in sales, teaching or marketing related field. ' Up to 50% travel annually' A BA/BS in a related field. Master's level degree preferred, but not required. ' Thorough understanding of marketing, educational publishing, technology, finance and book production.' Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategies into solutions ' Effective problem solver and decision maker' Proven ability to lead a team to create a supportive work climate' Excellent verbal and written communication skills' Ability to multitask and prioritize a large volume of projects' Strong track record of collaboration
