Marketing Copywriter/Proofreader

Job Summary

With general guidance, responsible for proofreading, copyediting, and content writing for marketing collateral,  websites, emails, and related marketing projects.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

 

·         Works closely with Marketing Manager and staff  in the creation of marketing copy to final proofs.

·         Proofreads and copyedits for entire marketing department printed materials, Website copy, e-newsletters, emails, brochures, catalogs, and other related marketing projects.

·         Performs content writing under the direction of Marketing Manager for printed material, emails, web, and other marketing requirements as needed.

·         Acts as a resource for marketing staff regarding content

·         Performs assigned administrative duties as needed.

None.

·         Excellent writing skills.

·         Excellent grammar and editing skills.

·         Ability to develop new story ideas for newsletters and various projects.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

·         Ability to write routine reports and correspondences.

·         Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

·         Excellent Internet research skills

·         Knowledge of proofreading and editing marks

·         Technological proficiency for use of the personal computer, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Internet.

 

Education and/or Experience

·         Prior experience typically achieved through five years in published writing resources and media.

·         Theoretical knowledge typically achieved through a related four-year college experience, such as a Bachelor’s degree in English or equivalent.

 

Language, Mathematical and Reasoning Abilities

·         Ability to write routine reports and correspondence as well as copy for various projects.

·         Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to speak effectively with author representatives, vendors, customers or employees of organization.

·         Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

·         Ability to identify problems, research and create solutions.
