Lead Data Center Specialist 3rd Shift (11:00 pm - 8:00 am)

Educational Requirements:

High school graduate plus specialized vocational, trade school, or military technical training, or an associate degree, or equivalent work experience.

Work Experience Required:



5+ years progressively more responsible computer operations experience, demonstrating comprehensive and in-depth familiarity with hardware and operating procedures as well as knowledge of job scheduling and job control languages.

Responsibilities:

·  Performs the most complex aspects of the work assigned to the shift and/or exercises a leadership role over less-experienced staff.

·  Operates all computer hardware and environmental equipment unassisted.

·  Identifies hardware and software malfunctions and takes appropriate corrective action as necessary to troubleshoot/resolve the problem, and/or escalates internally as necessary, and/or externally with service vendors.

·  Responds to requests for operations assistance; this may include shutting down and restarting entire systems, quiescing, varying components off or on line, adjusting priorities, and/or canceling and restarting applications.

·  Monitors and responds to console messages.

·  Works with systems programmers in developing operational procedures.

·  Makes recommendations to improve efficiency.

·  Checks and performs all production library migration requests.

·  Monitors scheduled batch processing and performs error recovery/analysis.

·  Performs tape library procedures.
